Douglas McGray writes about social and political issues, science, and culture for such outlets as This American Life on NPR, the Atlantic Monthly, the New York Times Magazine and T:Travel, Wired, the Los Angeles Times, the New Republic, Foreign Policy, Travel + Leisure, Mother Jones, the Economist, and Metropolis. He is a California-based fellow at the New America Foundation. His work has received a number of national journalism awards, and been profiled on the cover of Time Asia and in the "Year in Ideas" issue of the New York Times Magazine. Previously a features editor at Foreign Policy, Doug was an architect of its transformation from a quarterly journal into an acclaimed magazine. He has appeared as a commentator on CNN, NPR, and the Charlie Rose Show. Doug graduated from Brown University.
