Douglas McGray

Douglas McGray writes about social and political issues, science, and culture for such outlets as This American Life on NPR, the Atlantic Monthly, the New York Times Magazine and T:Travel, Wired, the Los Angeles Times, the New Republic, Foreign Policy, Travel + Leisure, Mother Jones, the Economist, and Metropolis. He is a California-based fellow at the New America Foundation. His work has received a number of national journalism awards, and been profiled on the cover of Time Asia and in the "Year in Ideas" issue of the New York Times Magazine.

Previously a features editor at Foreign Policy, Doug was an architect of its transformation from a quarterly journal into an acclaimed magazine. He has appeared as a commentator on CNN, NPR, and the Charlie Rose Show. Doug graduated from Brown University.
