Justin Pritchard is a reporter on National Investigative Team at the Associated Press. He has worked as a writer and editor at AP since returning to the United States after a year freelancing from Southeast Asia in 2000, in that time covering everything from national campaigns to Hurricane Katrina to imported food safety, as well at the Olympics and World Cup. In 2004, he won a George Polk Award for his investigation that detailed disproportionate on-the-job death rates among Mexican-born workers in the U.S. As an IRP fellow in 1999, Pritchard covered Congress for LEGI-SLATE News Service, then an online service owned by the Washington Post Company. Previously he was a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Providence Journal-Bulletin. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a B.A. in history.
